Michael Bay directed something worth watching: Victoria’s Secret lingerie video

Sure, there are howling electric guitars and dramatic percussive strings that could rival Orff’s Carmina Burana, but there’s also something sort of gripping about Michael Bay’s latest directorial venture for Victoria’s Secret. The Transformers director channels his love of choppy cuts, over-the-top drama and shameless use of clichés into a lingerie-filled Christmas vision where slow-motion hair tosses, wind machines, and backlit white angel wings are used to abandon.

It’s packed with gorgeous models – Candice Swanepoel, Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Behati Prinsloo, Jasmine Tookes, Karlie Kloss, Lais Ribeiro, Lily Aldridge and Martha Hunt included – high heels, and sultry pouts. And it could be the film trailer for some sort of sexy girl-power action film with ample explosions, cheesy lines and excuses for near-nudity. But it makes for fun viewing, and at the end of the day that’s all that matters.
